CURRICULUM
Alfredo Martinez is a biologist and obtained his doctorate in Cellular Biology in 1991. He held several post-doctoral fellowships in London, Dublin and Vancouver. He worked for 11 years as Staff Scientist in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the United States, in Bethseda, Maryland.
In 2004 he returned to Spain to direct a work group at the CSIC (Higher Council of Scientific Research) in Madrid and was recently named (October 2008) Group Director of the Area of Oncology at the CIBIR. His line of work is centered on the study of new anti-angiogenesis therapies in the fight against cancer and his curriculum includes more than 150 scientific publications.
