Dr. Ochoa obtained her B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Navarra. She received her Ph.D. in Hepatology and Gene Therapy (CIMA). During her thesis, she was a visiting fellow at Cornell University (Gastrointestinal Unit, Department of Clinical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine). Dr. Ochoa carried out postdoctoral training at the University of Cologne (Institute for Genetics). In 2009, she joined the Oncology Area at the Center for Biomedical Research of La Rioja (CIBIR). Dr. Ochoa’s research has been focused on angiogenesis, immunology, viral hepatitis and hepatocarcinoma, including the design, characterization, and application of novel anti-tumoral therapies. In 2013, Dr. Ochoa was awarded with a prestigious fellowship from the UICC for a short time stay at the University of Western Australia (Dept of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology). She has been the Principal Investigator of La Rioja team in a trans-pyreneean Project, and of a regional project aimed to study the impact of CCR5 on macrophages and liver progenitor cells in the progression of HCC.

Additionally, Dr. Ochoa counts with a broad experience in experimental animal manipulation (Felasa, Category C). Moreover, she obtained the Aptitude Certificate as well as the B2 English language certification. She received the Assistant Teacher Doctor accreditation by The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA). She belongs to the Hospital San Pedro Teaching Unit as a Research collaborator. From 2013 is an assistant teacher of Anatomy, School of Nursing at the University of La Rioja. Besides, during her career has mentored master as well as summer students.

Dr. Ochoa has published more than 30 papers related to cancer research in high impact journals, more than 40 communications at international and national conferences and also has been involved in several projects funded by private as well as public entities. Currently, Dr. Ochoa participates as an external expert reviewing scientific articles (Sci Reports) as well as National and European research projects. She has also participated in 1 international patent. Besides, she is an EACR Ambassador and member of the ASEICA and AEEH.
