Biosketch

Angelina Zheleva obtained her bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics from the Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski“, Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2010. During this period she worked in project “Identification of cis- regulatory promoter elements specified for different Reactive oxygen species (ROS) in Arabidopsis thaliana“ at Plovdiv University, Faculty of Biology, led by Dr. Tsanko Getchev.

She continued her studies and obtained a Master in Bioinformaics from Plovdiv University in 2013. During her master’s internship she characterized a TREX-2 complex in C. elegans at the Prof. Andres Aguilera´s laboratory, Centro Andaluz de Biología Molecular y Medicina Regenerativa (CABIMER) Sevile, Spain.

Currently, Angelina is working on her Biomedicine PhD project focused on pharyngel morhogenesis in C.elegans, which she started at the CIBIR in 2013 under the direction of Dr. Juan Cabello.
