Research

Advances in science and technology can be a key driver of development. However, if ethical frameworks are not taken into account, science and technology can turn into risk factors for human beings’ health and welfare. One of the main goals of the bioethics is to do an ethical analysis of issues related to healthcare and welfare of human beings that are accompanying the development of science and technology.

Establishing and sharing ethical global standards as well as promoting the practice of ethical behavior of healthcare professionals and researchers, are important instruments how the bioethics contributes in the construction of a global society more human, responsible, just, and solidary.

The research activities carried out by the National Documentation Centre on Bioethics are performed by the Platform of Bioethics and Medical Education of the Rioja Health Foundation.
